Ministry in Costa Rica. I’m sorry this one is so overdue. I’m actually sitting on the plane to the dominican writing this.
Til He Returns is the ministry we worked with in Costa Rica. It is hands down one of my favorite ministry’s. It is an outlet of God’s love in action through passion and talent.
House of Raw!!
House of Raw is a dance company that was created by José. José teaches classes on the weekdays. He teaches Krump, Dancehall, and Popping. In house of raw, there is also Healing dance and women’s empowerment dance. House of Raw has dance studios all over central and south America, as well as Europe. My squad and I got to be apart of the dance classes, learn some cool moves, and build AMAZING relationships with the dancers. Some of my favorite parts were the tangible freedom, the fact that there was rarely a class that the name of Jesus didn’t come up, and the breaking of stereotypes.
English Club!!
English club is run by Rachel. She is originally from NC, but has been living in Costa for a little while now. English club is for adults that want to learn english. We would pass out flyers for class when we would evangelize. Our part in this looked like partnering up with the students and speaking with them or helping them with worksheets. One of my favorite parts of english club was seeing their excitement when they would learn something new!
Waves of Grace!!
Waves of grace is run by Brianna! Waves of grace is a bracelet making ministry. A few ladies from the community make the bracelets and sell them to support their families. Waves of grace bracelets are all handmade in costa rica and provide financial support, skill, and work ethic. We got to walk alongside these ladies. We learned how to make the bracelets, helped market them on social media, and learned about each lady and their stories. My favorite part of waves of grace was getting to know the ladies and their children!
The Refuge!!
The Refuge is run by the sweetest lady you’ll ever meet. She didn’t speak much english, but she didn’t need too. Her hugs said more than a thousand words ever could. The Refuge is a pregnancy crisis center. In provides help, counseling, and resources for pregnant women in need.
Beauty for Ashes!!
This is a women’a retreat that was held for us doing our time in gainesville that we got to lead here in Costa Rica. it is all about freedom and restoration. We did 3 different retreats and invited women from the ministry center as well as women we met throughout our time there.
So many interesting and unique ways to demonstrate the love and joy that is Jesus! Can’t wait to learn more about each of these ministries!
So much love,
Mom
