“but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31
He is greater than I. He knows better than me. His will and timing is greater than all I could imagine. He is in control. These are things that I’ve heard Him remind me over and over through this process. His faithfulness never runs out. I am beginning to realize that I have to surrender all control to fully follow.
I am writing this blog as an update about all the changes revolving around gap year and the coronavirus. One week ago, our leadership team reached out to us, saying that we had a couple options to pick from. The option to go overseas in September is no longer an option in order to keep all racers safe. I decided that I will go to Georgia in September to partake in a 3 month training camp. I will be able to come home for thanksgiving and Christmas, which is awesome! The date to leave has not been 100% confirmed, but will be sometime in early January. Some of my countries may differ, depending on which borders are opened and welcoming international travel. The leadership team says that my squad will still go in roughly the same regions as we planned to go before (Africa & Asia). I will still be returning home at the end of May. In Georgia, we will be working on missional training, leadership development, and discipleship. As for fundraising, I still need to raise a total of $15,800. This didn’t change because we will have the same number of flights as well as the cost of living in America for 3 months. The good news is that the deadline for all total funds is the end of December. That gives us 6 months to raise about $7000! We can totally do that!!!
I hope this is helpful for everyone following along. As I always say, please do not hesitate to ask me any questions any time. I love hearing your thoughts and am always beyond grateful for the support. Keep my squad mates in your prayers as they finalize this decision.
THANK YOU!
