”Who knows whether you have not come to the Kingdom for such a time as this?”

I am sure this is an update that many of you have been anticipating.

I’m going to Ukraine.

Here’s how I got there…

A few weeks ago, the founder of Adventure in Missions reached out to my squad to see if any of us were interested in partnering with A Jesus Mission here in Romania. A Jesus Mission is a missions organization focused on sending & equipping missionaries. These missionaries have been here since late February, early March. Since first hearing about the war, my heart broke for the Ukrainians. I just got a one way ticket to be on the front lines loving them & sharing the hope I have through Jesus. I said yes, & 5 days later I was on a plane headed to Romania.

What do we do on a run to Ukraine?

About 3 times a week, we send 8-10 people to bulk grocery stores to buy pasta, flour, yeast, rice, peanut butter, fresh produce, formula, as well as hygiene products. We then pack those into vans and are driving them into Ukraine. We are partnered with church in Ukraine that helps us deliver the products to families still in the country. The requirements are simple, have a calling from the Lord & be able to drive stick shift.

When first hearing this, I felt a little bit of instant fear, & then felt so much peace that I was created for such a time as this. My heart is so for refugees, making people feel safe & at home & providing for their needs. This is a dream ministry for me, despite the extremely unfortunate causes.  The Lord tugged my heart for them and I just knew.

What are we doing in Romania?

We are partnering with a local church. The church is acting a as half way rest point for refugees on their way to long term homes. We help clean, prepare beds, & other necessities for them when they come through. On a day to day basis, we host the refugee parents & children & provide children’s programs. In these programs the children are hearing Bible stories, processing, and playing.

I have decided to extend my stay in Romania! I will be here for at least the month of May. I will continue to do Ukraine runs as well as anything else they need. I will no longer be an Adventures in Missions missionary. I am so grateful for all the support so far. I am so grateful for the role AIM has played in my walk with the Lord. With this, I will begin paying for my housing, food, & transportation. If you feel led to give, my venmo is Kaylinstanleyy. Any amount is extremely appreciated! Thank you so much. Please continue to lift Ukraine up in prayer as well as the team of missionaries here.

One response to “I am Going to Ukraine”
